On 16th December 2005 the Transferable Skills Project held a workshop, the aim of which was to share the practical experiences of the members of the project, as well as to generate enthusiasm among participants for integrating skills into academic courses. Participants included language lecturers from higher education institutions around the country, as well as teaching and learning experts and careers advisers. Activities were designed to generate practical ideas for the integration of skills, and to address issues impacting on this practice, as well as to formulate personal action plans for undertaking such work in the future. While the workshop was targeted primarily at language lecturers, the activities can be adapted for any discipline.
